About Child of Bast
There is something very uplifting in writing about my practice and maintaining a small informational site dedicated to a Goddess. I had purchased this domain name on a whim with intention of creating a cat behaviorist practice. Nothing came of it, yet, and so I decided that it would be a perfect domain name to use for this dedicated website to Bast-Mut. Now it serves as both an informational hub as well as a blog about my experiences.
Through having this site, I am inspired further to research everything I can about Bast-Mut, which is tricky since there isn’t a lot of information out there. When I discover it, I want it all in one place so that I have it at my fingertips, and others can find it a useful resource.
I am Tawa’ubastmut, a name given to me by Bast-Mut Herself. My name means Bast-Mut’s soldier. I hold it very dear to my heart and it’s a big part of who I am.
I was introduced to Her in the Rite of Parent Divination of the Kemetic Orthodox House of Netjer, in which I became a shemsu and vowed to serve Her and my beloved gods Mafdet and Heru-sa-Aset. I was divined on December 30th 2014 and named the following day, the 31st.
When I’m not singing the praises of my Mother, I am a professional tarot card reader, an artist and aspiring creator of comics, as well as a full time flight attendant.
I have four indoor cats who are like children to me, and I still long to be able to help cats in some fashion in the future.
Thank you for visiting!
